The co-main event of UFC on Fox 15 will see number 2 ranked Middleweight Ronald “Jacare” Souza (21-3) collide with number 6 ranked Yoel “Soldier of God” Romero (9-1).
Souza a former Strikeforce Middleweight champion is on a 7 fight win steak, with 6 wins by stoppage. Most recently “Jacare” scored a 3rd round submission of Gegard Mousasi. American Top Teams, Romero has won 5 fights in a row coming off “stoolgate”, at UFC 178. When Romero took an extra minute on the stool between the 2nd and 3rd rounds to recover. Which paid off as in the 3rd round Romeo scored a TKO of Tim Kennedy.
Souza is one of the top BJJ practitioners in all of MMA, who all shows huge growths in hist striking game each and every fight. Romero is a former Cuban Olympic freestyle wrestler who is a very explosive athlete with viscous knock out power.
UFC on Fox 15 is on April 18th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey; and is headlined by number 2 ranked Middleweight, former Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machid vs. number 5 ranked Middleweight, former Strikerforce Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.
