UFC Fight Night 72 “Bisping vs. Leites” Heads to Scotland

July 18th the UFC for the first time will be in Scotland and headlining the event is Micheal Bisping (26-7) vs. Thales Leites (25-4).

Bisping is the number 9 ranked UFC Middleweight. Bisping has alternated wins and losses in his last 8 going 4-4. Most recently “The Count” scored a unanimous decision win over CB Dollaway at UFC 186.

Leites is the number 10 ranked UFC Middleweight. Leites is on his 2nd stint with the UFC and is 5-0 so far this run. Overall since being released by the UFC in 2009 to now, Leites has won 11 of 12 and 8 in a row. In his last 3 fights Leites has knocked out Trevor Smith and Francis Carmont; and choked Tim Boetsch to sleep.

The UFC Fight Night 72 co-main event will be a Lightweight contest between Ross Pearson (17-8) and Evan Dunham (15-6). Pearson is 2-2 in his last 4, coming off a UFC 185 knock out of Sam Stout. Dunham is coming off a UFC 182 unanimous decision win over Rodrigo Damm, which ended a 3 fight skid.

Also announced for the card Scotland’s own Joanne Calderwood (9-1) the number 9 ranked woman’s UFC Strawweight, meets Australia’s Bec Rawlings (6-4). Calderwood will be looking to rebound from a April, submission loss to Maryna Moroz, while Rawling is coming off ending a 2 fight skid in May, with a submission of Lisa Ellis.
