The UFC will be in the Philippines for the first time on May 16th. UFC Fight Night Edgar vs Faber will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines.
The main event will see number 1 ranked Featherweight former UFC Lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar (18-4-1) against number 3 ranked Bantamweight, former WEC Featherweight champion “The California Kid” Urijah Faber (32-7).
Edgar has won 3 fight in a row defeating Charles Oliveira (UD), BJ Penn (TKO), and Cub Swanson (SUB). Faber has won 6 of 7 fights, including consecutive submission wins over Alex Caceres and Franciso Rivera.
Five other matches for the card have also been announced with at Welterweight Li Jingliang (17-8) tangles with Roger Zapata (4-1), at Lightweight Jon Tuck (8-2) faces Tae Hyun Bang (17-8) and Kajan Johnson (19-11) meets Lipeng Zhang (9-8-1); At Flyweight Nolan Ticman (4-2) collides with Zhuikui Yao (1-2) and Jon Delos Reyes (7-4) clashes with Roldan Sangcha-an (4-1).
