So many UFC cards have been changing up this year just a couple weeks before the fight is supposed to take place. We have been keeping track of all the action to bring you the best UFC 197 DraftKings picks we can. UFC 197 was originally supposed to be a rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. With Cormier out, Jon “Bones” Jones will take on the #6 ranked light heavyweight, Ovince Saint Preux. This still leaves us with an interesting fight, however it will not be for the official light heavyweight title. We are also going to see on of the greatest fighters alive today, Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson take on olympic gold medalist Henry “The Messenger” Cejudo. Both of the Pettis brothers are on the card, even though I feel like I recall them saying they wouldn’t do that again. Big bro Anthony Pettis will take on Edson Barboza, and lil bro Sergio is fighting Chris Kelades. Another interesting fight will take place between Robert Whittaker and Rafael Natal at 185 lbs. We will also get to see Carla Esparza return to the cage in a bout against Juliana Lima.
UFC 197 DraftKings: Jones vs Saint Preux Picks
Anthony Pettis ($10,600)
I walked by a Wheaties box on the cereal aisle the other day and there was no Pettis on the box. Anthony “Showtime” Pettis has has some bad performances in his last couple of fights and should be looking to make an impressive comeback. The former champion was only able to defend the title once before losing it to Rafael dos Anjos. Showtime looked even less impressive in his fight against Eddie Alvarez. I know Edson Barboza is a monster and could easily end the fight with his striking. However I believe Pettis has more to prove and shows up to win.
Rafael Natal ($8,700)
This is an interesting match up between two middleweights. Both Rafael Natal and Robert Whittaker have won their last 4 fights and each have a decision win over Uriah Hall. There is a pretty big gap in the salary difference for this bout, but I believe the fight should be pretty even. I think as an underdog, Rafael Natal is an excellent pick for your UFC 197 DraftKings lineup.
Andre Fili ($8,900)
This is another match up between two fighters who each have a good chance of winning. Andre Fili has gone 3-2 in the UFC with 2 finishes, however he was submitted in both of his losses. Yair Rodriguez has gone 3-0 in the UFC and won each fight by way of decision. I think that Andre “Touchy” Fili has a greater chance of finishing the fight to earn more fantasy point for this UFC 197 DraftKings game.
Chris Kelades ($9,300)
Chris “The Greek Assassin” will be taking on Sergio Pettis in a flyweight bout. Even though Sergio Pettis is in the top 15, I just don’t think he is going to do well against Kelades. Sergio Pettis has 6 UFC fights but I can’t find one of them where he has won in an impressive manor. Kelades only has 3 UFC fights but I believe he has an edge going into this bout. If you need underdogs for your lineup, this isn’t a bad choice for UFC 197 DraftKings games.
Danny Roberts ($10,400)
This will be the second UFC fight for Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts who has a professional record of 12-1. He won his first UFC bout against Nathan Coy with a technical submission. His opponent, Dominique “Non-Stop Action Packed” Steele has gone 1-1 in the UFC with a KO win over Dong Hyun Kim. I believe Danny Roberts has more ways to win the fight and should put on an impressive performance this weekend. Roberts is slightly taller but the fighters have matching reach.
