UFC 185 DraftKings picks
Anthony Pettis($12,200) vs Rafael dos Anjos($7,600)
This is definitely an exciting match up that should be very interesting to watch. Anthony Pettis has had some great success acquiring and defending his lightweight title. Showtime has been impressing me more and more with every victory. His submission over Gilbert Melendez made me get up out of my seat. I think Anthony Pettis is a very good selection for your lineup costing only $12,200.
Carla Esparza($10,500) vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk($9,000)
After a very interesting season of the Ultimate Fighter, a winner and champion emerged in Carla Esparza. She managed to choke out the favorite, Rose Namajunas in the 3rd round of the fight. This win was very impressive, however I see this fight going to decision. Neither fighter has show an outstanding ability to finish in such a light weight class. While there is a good chance, Esparza will finish the fight I am not counting on it for my lineups. This one is a scrap for me.
Johny Hendricks($11,700) vs Matt Brown($7,800)
This is a very interesting matchup indeed. Johny Hendricks was in the spotlight for a moment after winning the title, but ultimately lost it in a close rematch with Robbie Lawler. The last two of Johny’s fights could have went either way honestly. Both fighters are coming off a decision lost to the Champion. This one is another scrap. Sure you can put the former champ on your team for $11,700 but I don’t think you can count on a finish. Hendricks is a high point scorer, but I see this fight going to decision in Johny’s favor.
Roy Nelson($8,400) vs Alistair Overeem($11,100)
I am very excited for this matchup. Two excellent heavyweights that have been in the game for a while are going to duke it out. While Roy Nelson may seem pretty 1 dimensional, his stint on The Ultimate Fighter really made me a fan of him. On the surface many people would automatically go with Overeem, he is taller, longer, and has an outstanding kickboxing pedigree. However, I think the Reem has a glass chin and can’t hang with the big boys anymore. I see this fight going similarly to Mir vs Silva, first round knockout by Big Country Nelson. He is a great pick to mix into your lineup at $8,400.
