Injuries have taken most of the last 5 years from Mike “Quick” Swick’s (15-5) fighting career. Coming off 31 months on the sidelines Swick will step back in the octagon at UFC 189 in July against Alex “The Dominican Nightmare” Garcia (12-2).
Now residing in Thialand but still training with the American Kickboxing Academy, Swick will be looking to rebound from a UFC on Fox 5 knock out loss to Matt Brown. Four months before the loss to Brown, Swick returned from 30 moths of inactivity to knock out DaMarques Johnson.
Garcia a representative of the Tristar Gym, won his frist 2 UFC fights over Ben Wall (KO) and Sean Spencer (SD); but will be looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Neil Magny.
UFC 189 is on July 11th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegad, Nevada; and is headlined by Connor McGregor challenging Jose Aldo for the UFC Featherweight World Title.
