After the conclusion of the UFC 184 weigh-in’s news of 3 additions to UFC Fight Night New Orleans, on june 6 broke on Fox Sports 1; including that MMA legend Dan Henderson (30-13) will square off with Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch (18-8).
Henderson is a former Olympic wrestler, Pride and Strikeforce champion; but as lost 5 of his last 6. Most recently Henderson suffered a 1st round TKO loss to Gegard Mousasi. Boetsch is 2-2 in his last 4 and is coming off being choked unconscious by Thales Leites at UFC 183.
Coming off back to back TKO wins over Brandon Vera and Alistair Overeem, Ben Rothwell (34-9) is set to tangle with “Meathead” Matt Mitrione (9-3) who’s has won 3 straight by 1st round knock outs of Shawn Jordan, Derrick Lewis, and Garbriel Gonzaga.
Going into his 2nd fight at Lightweight Justin Edwards (8-4) will be looking to end a 2 fight skid, against Joe Proctor (10-3) who’s 3-2 in the octagon coming off a submission loss to Yancy Medeiros.
UFC Fight Night New Orleans on June 6th, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana; and is headlined by Daniel Cormier vs Ryan Bader.
