Jon Jones Defends His Title At UFC 182

What an awesome way to kick off the new year. Many great fights have already occurred and it is only the first week of 2015. We didn’t see too many finishes tonight, but we did see some excellent fighting. The UFC welcomed back veteran Josh Burkman in a brutal 3 round bout against Hector Lombard. Burkman was unable to win, but hopefully gets another fight with the organization. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was able to secure a decision victor over Myles Jury, and finished the 3rd round with some powerful soccer kicks to the leg of Fury Jury. The main event turned out to be an excellent dog fight between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. Bones was able to hold up to his claims of being able to take DC down. In the 5h round DC was able to secure a very large takedown on Jones for a moral victory but ultimately lost the fight by way of decision. The judges scored the bout a unanimous decision of (49 – 46)
