As many of us were excited to see the fighter sponsored by Hannibal Buress, it turns out the fight will not take place. Janaisa Morandin missed weight by a lot which ultimately caused the bout to be called off. Morandin weighed in at 111.2lbs for her Invicta FC atomweight debut. Her opponent, Jinh Yu Frey weighed in at 106 making the cap for her weight class.
After seeing a few tweets today from Hannibal Buress as well as Jinh Yu Frey it seems the fight will not take place tomorrow in Kansas City. Maybe they will get a chance to reschedule this fight, or maybe Morandin will need to consider going up a weight class. Any time a fighter misses weight by 5 lbs, its a pretty big deal especially in the lower weight classes.
