UFC Pittsburgh DraftKings: Cowboy vs Cowboy Picks

I have been excited about this card ever since I heard Donald Cowboy Cerrone was going to move up to welterweight. I always like to see fighters move up a weight class to see how they compete without having to cut as much weight as usual. Cerrone’s original opponent was supposed to be “Dirty Bird” Tim Means, who had to pull from the fight due to possible doping violation. Even thought “Dirty Bird” claimed not to be dirty, a replacement opponent was found. Many people joked that the always ready to fight Donald Cerrone would step in the octagon to face himself if no one stepped up. However another Cowboy stepped up to the occasion, Alex Oliveira said he would face Donald at 170lbs. Now its a fight of Cowboy vs Cowboy where both fighters share a nickname. You could do an entire card of “Pitbull vs Pitbull” if you want, but we will have to settle for this battle. Draft your UFC Pittsburgh DraftKings lineup now!

UFC Pittsburgh DraftKings: Cowboy vs Cowboy

ufc pittsburgh draftkingsDonald “Cowboy” Cerrone ($10,600)

Both of these Cowboys typically fight at 155lbs so a bout at 170 for both means they just don’t have to cut as much weight. I believe Donald Cerrone has proven himself against tougher opponents and has even fought for the title at 155lbs. I believe DonaldĀ  Cerrone didn’t perform the way he wanted in that fight and will be looking to come back even better. I was going to pick Cerrone against Means, and I believe Oliveira will be less of a challenge. He has a pretty high salary for this DraftKings Pittsburgh but there are 5 fighters with even higher costs.

Chris Camozzi ($10,500)

I like watching Camozzi fight, win or lose. He will be facing Joe “Diesel” Riggs who hasn’t technically won a fight since he Mike Bronzoulis in Bellator. He was his last UFC fight because his opponent was DQ’d for an illegal upkick. While I really enjoyed some of Riggs fights in the past, I just don’t think he has it anymore. I believe Camozzi will be able to finish this fight by utilizing his 6 inch reach advantage. I will be including him on my lineups for UFC Fight Night 83 DraftKings.

Sean “Tarzan” Strickland ($9,900)

Sean Strickland has a list of impressive wins under the KOTC banner where he fought before the UFC. Both Sean Strickland and Alex “The Dominican Nightmare” Garcia have a record of 3-1 in the UFC. Both fighters are under the salary average so you can almost go either way on this pick. I believe Strickland will be able to secure a victory with his slight reach advantage.

Oluwale “The Holy War Angel” Bamgbose ($9,000)

Oluwale Bamgbose lost his only UFC fight to Uriah Hall who is quite the striker. Daniel Sarafian has a few fights under the UFC banner, but holds more losses than wins. Before his UFC loss, Bamgbose had 5 consecutive wins by TKO under the ROC banner. I believe he will show up ready to finish. Oluwale is 2 inches taller with a 5 inch reach advantage.

Anthony “Freight Train” Hamilton ($9,600)

Here is another fight where both fighters have a similar salary under the $10k. This will be a bout between two very large heavyweights. Both fighters have the same reach but Hamilton is 2 inches taller. Hamilton is 2-2 in UFC fights and Shamil Abdurakhimov has only one UFC fight which he lost. I believe Hamilton will finish the fight, however you can go either way on this pick if you believe the Russian will win. You can always mix and match these picks into your own UFC Pittsburgh DraftKings lineups.
